Here it is, almost the end of August and it’s just now starting to get hot in SoCal.  Odd?  I think so.  I mean, it’s been comfortably warm with a few hotter days but the real summer heat has just started.  Now the creativity has to start… what to do with the kids when it’s roasting outside.  What do you do for your summer activities?  We really like the more simple things such as dragging out the molded plastic pool and getting wet.  But I’m always up for something else that’s cheap and fun.  This weekend was no different.  The pool was dragged out and I was splashed by my happy kiddos… until I had to tell them I was done being splashed.  :)   I’m perfectly happy watching the crazies playing in the water while lounging in a chair in the shade… dry.

As a reminder, I really do have 3 kids… Tony still avoids the camera 99% of the time.  But I will get some photos of him someday… while he’s still 6.

I must start off by saying that girls are sooo cute.  I don’t get to photograph many girls except for Amanda… and she’s 4 so that is always on her own terms.  But baby girls such as little Miss P are absolutely perfect!  She sat up great for me the whole session and didn’t try to crawl away.  Oh yes, the days of bliss where you always know where your baby is… right where you put them down last.

Mom, Grandma and little Miss came down with a few cute outfits and awesome hair bands in tow.  That is always awesome!

We took advantage of the yummy summer sun while it set.  The sun brings me warm fuzzies… especially when there is a darling in front of it!

Thank you for meeting up with me!!  Enjoy your sneak peek!

My not-so-baby brother came to Cali this week for some downtime with his family. And of course he had to visit his most favorite sister. :P We met up at the beach for a family session before he headed back “home”. Home, as we know, is where your family is. Unfortunately for him, his family lives in Colorado while he is stationed in North Carolina serving our country. I am so proud of him for becoming such a great man and fighting for our country. Our service men and women deserve so much gratitude and respect for what they do.

We met in the evening in hopes of some yummy sunset light… instead it was very overcast and dark.  Fortunately, as we were ending the session, we got a peek of the sun setting and quickly snapped a few more photos.

Thank you guys for meeting up with me one last time before you finished up your family vacation!  xoxo

As I told you on Monday, my baby boy turned 1!  Yesterday I finally found the time to do a smash the cake session… total dud.  Mister does not like cake apparently.  I even waited until it was lunch time and tried putting it in his mouth… aaaand he would spit it right back out and yell at me.  See, I’m not much of a cake person either so maybe he has taken after me in that aspect.  I love the look of cake… the texture and sweetness of the frosting, not so much.  But, I did manage to get a few shots.

I met with this little man yesterday evening before the sun went down.  He was such a happy little camper and flashed the cutest dimple every time he smiled!

I shot as quick as I could before he decided enough was enough and wanted mommy instead.

Doesn’t he have amazing blue eyes?  Between those, his too-cute-for-words baby chub and that dimple… oh mom, you are going to have your work cut out for you!  Thank you Baby C and mom for coming out with me!

Enjoy your sneak peek!

Eye rolling. It’s one of those things you do when you’ve heard for the umpteenth time that time goes by way to fast and before you know it, your child is going to be a teenager. The thing is, those aren’t just words. Really, it happens. In my case obviously, we haven’t hit the teens yet, but I can see where this is headed. It’s amazing to see our children grow up. To watch them learn new things. I love these days.

Ashton turns 1 year today. I know it’s just a small step in the scheme of things but currently being at this stage, it’s amazing how quick it went. I still vividly remember the day I went in for my scheduled c-section. My stomach was sick because I couldn’t eat. And I was nervous. I had done it twice before but regardless, surgery is a scary thing. The nurse went through the longest checklist ever with me… “Do you have any piercings?”, “Do you have an tattoos?”, “Are you hungrier now than you have ever been in your whole life?”… Okay, the last one wasn’t asked but I would have answered yes! lol

Ashton was such a perfect baby. Heck, he still is! He can walk if he’s holding on to something… and will let go and stand by himself for a few seconds before he lowers his little butt to the ground. He says, Uh oh, Moa (which means more), Mama and signs more, water, eat. He has started drinking a little milk over the last week or so but still prefers to nurse. He currently loves to play with his brother and sister and cousins. He will crawl all around the house to “chase” them when they are running around. He really enjoys baths, getting into cupboards (and pulling everything out of course), being held, driving with the windows rolled down and crawling around with toys in his mouth. :) He prefers finger foods and currently likes cheese, pb&j sandwiches, Goldfish, hot dogs, green beans, chicken, chunked up (canned) fruit, graham crackers and peanut butter crackers. He does not like taking naps…or going to bed in general or being left behind a baby gate.

Happy 1st birthday my little man. May the next year be one of many discoveries and many memories. We love you so much and are so blessed to have you with us each day of your life.

Very rarely do I get a photo of all 3 of my kids.  Anthony gives me the fake smile, Amanda has to be bribed and Ashton crawls away… fast… but my lucky day came!  Even though they aren’t all looking at the camera, they were fully enjoying themselves.  And I love that.  It’s who they are.  This processing is very different from my usual stuff but I felt it fit this photo.

Happy 4th of July!  I hope you all enjoy this beautiful Independence Day with your friends and family.  Stay safe!  Love to you all!
