Pumpkin Patch

Amanda wasn’t feeling well yesterday morning. She had a fever and was on day 2 of a cough. Nonetheless, I had to take her out of the house to drop the big one off at school then off to the store for groceries. Some things need to be done, rain or shine. Or, in this case, sick or not. I just picked up what I needed then came home and hung out all day. She napped at one point and when she woke up she felt back to herself and had a lot of energy to burn off. So after dinner we decided to load the kids up in the car and head to The Corona Pumpkin Farm at CJ’s Ranch. By the time we got there the sun was just about gone. I told everyone to hurry up and get out of the car so we can get some photos before anyone picked out a pumpkin. They must love me, haha. It’s part of my quest to get more photos of them. So nevermind the colorcasts… these are just fun snaps of my family.

This is the first year this place has had a pumpkin patch and I hope they continue to do this yearly because it is so much fun! We have picked our own pumpkins in the past while we were out in Colorado but being back out here we’ve missed that experience. Until now that is. They are really nice people and the kids LOVE to pick out their pumpkin and wait for daddy to come cut it off the stem. It’s just as fun as picking out a Christmas tree to cut down! And if you haven’t done either of these, I strongly recommend you do it this year! Your kids will never forget the memories you will make!

Five on Friday

1. I want to blog more. I really do. But I forget. Maybe forget isn’t quite the right word. More like, push aside for other things in life. Maybe it’s part of being a mom of youngsters? I can’t even keep up on my personal blog. However, I’m going to try to make more of an effort. Maybe I will set a reminder alarm on my phone… electronic motivation? Possibly.

2. Along the same lines, I really, really, really need to get out and take some photos of my own kiddos. I haven’t done that in quite a while. They are growing up right before my eyes. As difficult as these days can be sometimes, it is so amazing to be able to take a step back and observe them. I need more photos of them doing their thing… even if they are crazy sometimes.

3. We are in the middle of October and the temperatures this week have hovered around 100! Say what?? Last week we had beautiful Fall temps then this week reminded me that yes indeed, I live in California. The weather is unpredictable.

4. I love to read. I go to the library every few weeks and pick out about 4 books at a time. I’m currently digging on the Stephanie Plum series. It is so funny and an easy read. 5. Here is a photo of my first born, Tony. He is a silly boy with a huge heart. And no matter how I’m feeling, that huge semi-toothless grin is contagious and always puts a smile on my face.

Week 7: Um, yeah, not the best picture. At all. It’s what you get at 7:30pm with 3 kiddos that are tired, at a school function, in the hallway with poor lighting. BUT, it’s one of us… together {kind of… Tony is peaking his head around, lol}. I’m trying to keep up on it… I may be a couple weeks behind but I’m trying. That’s what counts… right?

Last weekend Amanda and I met up with our best friends for a girls only brunch at the Jazz Kitchen in the Downtown Disney District. A magician came and performed for our table all while listening to some great live music. I think we may need to do that again… what do you think girls?
